Onboarding and Training for New Hires – Champions Afterschool Allstars
This course provides new team members with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to successfully integrate into the Champions Afterschool Allstars program. Participants will learn about organizational policies, program expectations, safety protocols, and daily operational procedures, as well as strategies for engaging students and fostering a positive afterschool environment. By the end of the training, new hires will be equipped to confidently perform their roles and contribute to the program’s mission of supporting student growth and success.
Onboarding Process Overview
The Champions Afterschool Allstars onboarding process is designed to set new team members up for success from day one. Our approach ensures that every hire feels welcomed, informed, and prepared to contribute to our mission.
Welcome and Introduction – New hires receive a warm welcome, an overview of our program’s mission, values, and culture, and an introduction to the Champions Afterschool Allstars team.
Orientation – Participants are guided through essential policies, procedures, and safety protocols, including child supervision standards, emergency response guidelines, and behavior management practices.
Program Training – New staff engage in hands-on and interactive training that covers daily schedules, activity planning, academic support strategies, and enrichment programming unique to Champions.
Role-Specific Guidance – Each team member receives tailored training for their specific responsibilities, ensuring they understand expectations and best practices for their position.
Mentorship and Support – During the initial weeks, new hires are paired with an experienced team member or site leader for guidance, feedback, and ongoing support.
Follow-Up and Evaluation – Supervisors conduct check-ins and performance reviews to ensure new hires are confident, competent, and fully integrated into the program.
